Casual Sales Expert / Office Manager

Horse in the box – Yarra Glen, Victoria

Horse in the box is looking for a Casual Sales Expert / Office Manager to join our team in Yarra Glen.

We are one of Australia’s leading equestrian retail businesses, with our Yarra Glen retail store, busy online store and mobile trade stand servicing the equestrian community Australia wide.

This is a very diverse and hands-on role where no two days are exactly the same. The position can be moulded around the right person, with plenty of opportunity to get involved across different areas of the business. It is an open and varied role for someone who enjoys being busy, learning new things and diversity whilst still performing at a high standard.

About the Role

Approximately 4 days per week, with occasional weekend and possible event work required.

You’ll be involved in a wide range of responsibilities, including:

• Providing 5-star customer service in-store, online, by phone and email
• Assisting customers with product selection and sales
• Providing knowledgeable advice on equestrian products and equipment
• Processing online orders, packing and dispatching orders
• Receiving and processing incoming stock
• Data entry and general office administration
• Assisting with updating website products when required 
• Assisting with social media posts and content when required
• Answering customer enquiries and following up customers and their orders
• Assisting with event packing, set up and down
• Liaising with wholesale customers and suppliers from time to time
• Assisting with the day-to-day running of the retail store, including housekeeping
• Supporting the wider retail, online and mobile business
• Helping wherever needed across the business and taking on new tasks as required

About You

We are looking for someone who is passionate about horses, equestrian sport and the industry, with a genuine interest in providing an exceptional customer experience.

An equestrian background is essential, as understanding horses, riding and equestrian products is an important part of being able to confidently assist our customers.

You will ideally have:

• Strong knowledge of equestrian products, equipment and apparel
• knowledge of premium equestrian brands and the standards they expect delivered to customers.
• A genuine passion for horses and the main equestrian disciplines & industry
• A 5-star customer service mindset and a genuine desire to help and please customers
• Excellent communication and people skills
• Strong computer literacy and the ability to learn new systems quickly
• Excellent attention to detail
• Good organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks at once
• A positive, practical, and trusting can-do attitude
• The ability to work independently while also being a great team player
• Adaptability and the willingness to take on a variety of tasks
• A strong work ethic and pride in your work and appearance 
• The ability to stay focused and productive in a busy environment
• A friendly, enthusiastic and professional manner

Enjoys a fast-paced environment, loves variety and doesn't need to be told every step of the way.

You will need to be someone who sees what needs doing and gets in and does it. Someone with a can-do attitude, passion for their work, an eye for detail and a genuine want to please.

This is not a role where you will be doing the same thing every day. It is diverse, flexible and open, and can be moulded around the strengths and interests of the right person.

There will be busy days, quiet days, customer-facing days, office days and days where we are packing for an event or getting stuck into something completely different!
