We normally recommend insurance for higher valued items, especially for retired Painted Ponies which in some cases can not be replaced, but it is the responsibility of the buyer to request extra insurance. Clothing: For clothing items we normally use express bags, with a delivery time of 1-2 business days anywhere in Australia. These bags come in two sizes; the smaller ($7.70) will hold, for example, one pair of breeches or a t-shirt (up to 500g), the bigger ($10.90) will fit, for example, two pairs of breeches, and a light jacket (up to 3kg). The postage cost for the whips is normally low, because they’re light. Plus $2.50 registration with all orders. TOP ^ Do you have a printed catalogue? However, if you were interested in particular items, for example, Painted Ponies or breeches, we can print out the information from our online catalogue and mail it to you. Please ring our office to discuss your requirements. A printed catalogue of the Ledo whip range is available, with most of the styles included. TOP ^ I can’t decide what to buy as a gift. Do you have gift vouchers? Yes, we do. You can nominate the price, or select the value from the drop down menu (under Gift Voucher). It is easy to unsubscribe, by sending us an email with your name and email address. We do not share or disclose your information to any third parties. Please make sure that you notify us if your details change. TOP ^ Are all of the items on your website available? Clothing, footwear: We endeavour to stock all of the items displayed on our website, however, because of the large variety of colours and sizes, we may not have all of them in stock at any one time. We can take orders for clothing items, and notify you when the products become available. (Usually 3-5 weeks) No deposit necessary. Painted Ponies, giftware: We try to update the Painted Pony and giftware section of our website as we sell them, so generally, what is displayed on the website is readily available. TOP ^ Can you gift wrap? Yes, we are happy to gift wrap for an extra charge of $1, and we can also include a ‘Special Occasion’ message or a card. TOP ^ Do you stock first edition Painted Ponies? Yes, we have a large number of first edition ponies available. In the case of the retired ones they are normally higher priced than the subsequent editions. When you pre-order ponies from the new release you usually get 1E for the normal retail price, which is a very good way of building up a valuable collection. If you’re only interested in 1E-s please send us a message and we’ll do our best to help you. TOP ^ Can I order other Painted Ponies besides the ones displayed on the website? Yes. We sell large quantities of Painted Ponies, including rare and retired ones, so the range on the website changes constantly. We can register your request, and when the piece you’re interested becomes available we’ll notify you before we put it on the website. This COLLECTOR’S WHISHLIST is a free service we provide. You don’t even have to pay a deposit. TOP ^ Do you wholesale? Yes. We’re the Australian distributors for the French Equi-Theme clothing and accessories range, German Kyron breeches, the unique Ledo whips from Hungary and the KINNETTEK curb chains. For further information please refer to Wholesale Enquiries heading or contact our office. TOP ^ Are all of the Painted Ponies displayed in the Collector’s Book available? No. The photos in the book are of the life-size original ponies. Not all of these have been made in to a figurine. However at the back of the book there’s a catalogue of all the figurines that have been made up to that date. A new book is released every year to keep up with the newly created ponies. TOP ^ Can I pick up the items I ordered? Yes, pick up is possible form our showroom in Doncaster East, VIC. It is open at flexible hours, but please arrange a time by either e-mailing or ringing our office. TOP ^ Do you offer discounts if I buy more than one Painted Ponies? Yes, please refer to the Painted Ponies Specials heading under Painted Ponies. TOP ^ Why are some painted ponies more expensive than others? The price of the retired ponies is decided by the current supply and demand. Ponies which have retired years ago and/or have only been made into 1 or 2 editions will fetch higher price on the collectors market. 1E normally valued 10-30% more than subsequent editions. TOP ^ How many ponies have been made? As of April 2009 there have been 147 Painted Ponies figurines made (including 20 Holiday Painted Ponies, 7 Exclusive Painted Ponies, and the Four Seasons Collection). TOP ^ How many ponies are made out of each design? There are 10,000 in each edition, but it impossible to predict how many editions will be made out of a particular design. The Anniversary edition of the collectors’ book has information about the time of retirement and the last released number, which is very valuable information for collectors. Also you can request a COLLECTOR’S CHECKLIST from us. TOP ^ What does the numbering on the bottom of the figurine mean? The first number on the bottom of the Painted Pony is the Edition Number. This number will have an “E” after it (example: 1E, 2E, 3E). The second number refers to the number of that particular Painted Pony in reference to the Edition that it was created in. This number will be between 1 and 10,000, since there are 10,000 Painted Ponies in each Edition. TOP ^ How is it decided which figurines will retire and when are they announced? Twice a year a minimum of six Painted Ponies retires. The announcements are made on January 1 and July 1. If you’re signed up to our newsletter then you will be notified of them. There’s no real pattern as to which ponies will retire; sometimes even very popular ponies retire after only being made into 1 or 2 editions. After this announcement is made normally there’s a great rush to snap up the ones which are still available in the shops for the normal retail price before they become more expensive. TOP ^ Has ’The Trail of Painted Ponies’ donated to or helped any philanthropic organizations? The Trail of Painted Ponies continues to support worthy non-profit organizations. To date (2009) they’ve raised over 1 million dollars to support youth, education, animals, the arts and the environment. TOP ^
